I have been meaning to write since we returned from Newfoundland to let you know what a wonderful trip we had. The trip was all we had hoped for and more. We were hoping to see just one iceberg and ended up seeing the 401 of icebergs at rush hour. Mark was a superb guide. His knowledge of the local geology, topography, history, flora and fauna, etc. was outstanding. He has an incredibly keen eye and spotted many whales, birds, eagles, moose, and orchids that we would have missed on our own. He also allowed us to go at our own leisurely pace, which made the trip very enjoyable. I think you should hope that Mark doesn’t give up guiding to become a real estate agent. His excitement for the region is so contagious that he could make a killing if he ever decided to work the real estate market. In fact, as soon as we returned home we started thinking that we should buy a property in Gros Morne. For us the highlights included whale watching in St. Anthony, being close enough to touch an iceberg shining blue/green in the sunlight in Labrador, and our hike into and out of Western Brook Pond (to name just a few). We hope to get back to our new favorite province and if we do, we will certainly be in touch.”
